Fried Apples

Quick and easy yumminess (new word ;) )

Equipment

  • deep frypan with lid

Ingredients
  

  • 2 apples Granny smith; peeled and sliced into rings
  • 1-2 cups cooking oil
  • 1 cup sourdough starter discard
  • cinnamon and sugar to taste

Instructions
 

  • Peel and slice apples into rings.
  • Dip apple rings into starter to coat.
  • When a small amount of starter dropped into the oil reasily sizzles; carefully add apples to pan and cook until brown on both sides.
  • Let the cooked pieces drain on cooling rack or paper towel.
  • Sprinkle with (or dredge in) cinnamon and sugar mix.
  • Enjoy warm.

Notes

Always keep a lid handy when doing shallow pan frying in case of fire.
Better safe than sorry ;)
