Fried Apples
Quick and easy yumminess (new word ;) )
- 2 apples Granny smith; peeled and sliced into rings
- 1-2 cups cooking oil
- 1 cup sourdough starter discard
- cinnamon and sugar to taste
Peel and slice apples into rings.
Dip apple rings into starter to coat.
When a small amount of starter dropped into the oil reasily sizzles; carefully add apples to pan and cook until brown on both sides.
Let the cooked pieces drain on cooling rack or paper towel.
Sprinkle with (or dredge in) cinnamon and sugar mix.
Enjoy warm.
Always keep a lid handy when doing shallow pan frying in case of fire.
Better safe than sorry ;)
